Tom, It's the Mercer Cemetery.
Thank you, "anonymous;" I had a problem seeing So. Clinton Avenue...in fact, lost all sense of direction with that graphic.
The picture was taken from the top of the Federal Building, where George Whitely ran the local US Weather Bureau Station.
I remember him well, Bill. As I recall he wasn't the sharpest knife in the meteorologic drawer with his weather reports.
Now that I look at the billboard over the diner, it always seemed to be an ad for Gretz Beer. The Gretz brewery used to be in Germantown, Philly, relocated to Norristown over 50 years ago and is moving to Hatfield, PA.
The wooded area behind the parking lot is Mercer Cemetery that front on Clinton Ave. Some of my ancestors are buried there including Samuel Fox and members of the Briest family. The cemetery lost popularity to places like Riverside and Greenwood cemeteries in the 20th century.
