1937-1938 LALOR SCHOOL CLASS PHOTO

If you do a "Search Blog" and type in LALOR SCHOOL, you will see a number of past posts from this vintage Hamilton Township school. You will also see a class photo with the identical "Lalor School 1937-1938" identifying text in the center of the photo. The difference is apparent when you see the children from one of the pictures, obviously older than the children in this photo. The above photo may be the first or second grades.

1931 LALOR SCHOOL MINI HISTORY

LIVE AND LEARN! I HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE WAS A CONNECTION BETWEEN DEUTZVILLE SCHOOL WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1905, AND LALOR, WHICH REPLACED IT. IN THIS ARTICLE WE ALSO SEE THAT THE PTA LIKE PARENT TEACHER GROUPS ALL OVER, WERE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.

RECOGNIZE ANYONE? LALOR MUST HAVE REALLY CONCENTRATED ON SPORTS PROGRAMS. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP PHOTO I HAVE SEEN. I SEEM TO RECALL A CHAMPIONSHIP BASEBALL TEAM FROM AROUND THE SAME ERA.

TRUE IN 1941 AND STILL TRUE IN THIS YEAR OF 2007. SOCCER WAS A VERY POPULAR SCHOLASTIC SPORT. HERE'S THE LALOR SCHOOL CHAMPS FROM 1941.

1935: LALOR SCHOOL RECEPTION GRADE

When I found this clipping and read that the Reception Grade students at Lalor School had embarked on such a mature project and done such a wonderful job, I began to wonder if the caption in the photo wasn't in error. I was in Reception Grade at Kuser School. My technical level and that of my classmates fell far short of those Lalor Reception graders. I wonder if the caption is an error.

1935; LALOR SCHOOL Little Red Riding Hood

I have a soft spot for school photos whether they be class graduating photos or photos such as this one which shows the cast of the Lalor School's 1935 production of "Little Red Riding Hood." Years from now, any descendents of the Lalor kids shown in the group photo will have a worthwhile family scrapbook keepsake.

1944 Lalor School Baseball

From my "LALOR SCHOOL" file, this photo of the Lalor stars. Know anyone in there? I can't say I ever met them, but I recall the names of Donald Kraft, and "Bud" Lindsay from Hamilton High School.
