From the Library's "NOTABLE PERSONS" folder: I knew Clement Lenhardt back in the 1940's. He was a regular Sunday night visitor to Kuser Farm along with Barbara and Frances Lenhardt. Clement was a very gentle and kindly gentleman who was in his 80's when I first met him.

1944: Sgt. Joseph Lenhardt Killed in Action

The tragic news of a son lost in action caused a gold star to hang on the Kuser Road home of the Lenhardt family. We must never forget the sacrifices those who we now call the "Greatest Generation" made for our country; in this case, the ultimate sacrifice. Nor should we ever forget those from succeeding generations from the Korean War to the present time who gave and are giving their all for their country. I got to know "Big John" Lenhardt, and his brother Bernie  young Jack, Joe,and Ray, but. I never had the pleasure of meeting their brother, Sgt. Joe Lenhardt.
