1885: THE JONATHAN AND RACHEL HUTCHINSON FAMILY REUNION

These folks were the "blue bloods" of pioneer Nottingham Township in the very earliest years of Hamilton Township. The Tindalls, Cubberleys, Rogers, and Robbins families, and I'm sure others which I have not named, were farming the land from the earliest years of old Nottingham. I have inserted the Hamilton Square Baptist graphic. In 1912 when it was printed, there were 19 Hutchinson family members who were communicants at the historic Hamilton Square Baptist Church.   .

Conover, Tindall, Probasco, Hulse, Mount, Cubberley, and Applegate: Just a few of the names of families who are and were very prominent in our area. My mom was a Mount, and my search for her genealogical connections is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. I have learned that her branch of the family was connected to the Huguenots. The above article lists many of those old line families.

1932: Elijah C. Hutchinson Obit

He was one of the more prominent local politicians and merchants in the Hamilton/Mercer area back in the 19th and early 20th century. His name is still prominent when one mentions Hutchinsons Mills. The E.C. Hutchinson "Rolling Mill" was located in the general area of today's Coleman Supply Company on E. State Street and Klockner Road in Hamilton, just before you cross the railroad tracks heading toward Sloane Road.

1882: Sociable at Everett's Corner, Hamilton

This is a scan of the original invitation which is in the HAMILON SQUARE file in the Hamilton Library's Local History Collection. It is assumed that the Jacob Hughes is the Hughes of today's Hughes Drive area.
