2008: Next Stop: 90,000 HITS

I established this website three years ago in November, 2005. Since then, it has grown like "topsy," approaching 3,000 graphic posts. Thanks to all who are counted among those "hits;" without you, it wouldn't be possible.

2008: Of Course there is no "Glover Gazette."

There's a website where you can make your own newspaper, and I have taken the opportunity to announce the fact that this website is approaching 90,000 "hits." Quite impressive, and proof positive that history and nostalgic memories go hand in hand.

2008: EIGHTY THOUSAND AND COUNTING

I knew there was an interest in local history, nostalgia and ephemera, but I really had no idea that it would be so intense. Back when I began posting on this, the first of my 4 websites, I assumed that the site would be visited by students and scholars. I felt that there would be limited interest due to the fact that most of my contemporaries in the senior citizen population do not own a computer, nor are they interested in learning the basics of computing.

2008: 75,000 "HITS" AND COUNTING

When I began this website in November, 2005, I asked those who visited to please send comments pro and con. I have received many "pro's" and only recently my first "con." The latter being the fact that my descriptions of the graphics are written in all capital letters. It never entered my mind that this would be a negative, and as I responded to the writer, I will henceforth revert back to the standard structure. Interestingly, my penchant for all caps reverts back to my U.S. Army years when our typewriters were called "Mills," and there were no other keys but "Caps." It is much faster to type with all caps, but I can see where a proof reader or other grammar-minded person would rather see text written in normal sentence structure. Thanks again to the visitor whose comment I will accept as constructive criticism, and also "lose the caps."
