1984: TOM GLOVER'S HISTORY OF THE LOCAL A.O.H.

When this article was published back in 1984, a gentleman who identified himself as Mr. Leahy questioned the veracity of the article relating to the history of the Hibernians in Trenton. I fell back on my favorite celebrity quote by Will Rogers, and told him "all I know is what I read in the papers." In truth, old newspapers are indeed an incredibly valuable resource for those of us who are deeply involved in historic research.

1898: ANCIENT ORDER OF HIBERNIANS NATIONAL CONVENTION

With St. Patrick's Day looming on the horizon, I dipped into my "IRISH' and "SACRED HEART" folders in the Hamilton Library Local History Collection. Back in 1898, the A.O.H. held their national convention in Trenton at the Taylor Opera House. The graphic above is one I put together to save this historic article for posterity.
