UNDATED: LENI LENAPE LIFE IN PRE-COLUMBIAN TRENTON

Nothing is more fascinating that the incredibly interesting history to be found right here in the Mercer County area; especially along the Delaware. Hamilton Township has a treasure trove of "Pre-Columbian" history. C.C. Abbott, Ernest Volk, Dorothy Cross, and countless other historians who were interested in life as it was lived long before the "white man" entered our shores. The above article is from a very old scrapbook which I purchased at least 50 years ago. All the pages are "rippled" due to the shrinkage of the paper caused by the aging of the glue and the page. The original page was "foxed" to a deep tan color, and enhanced by computer-aided graphic image adjustments. I have reduced the page in size to give a reasonable level of legibility. Most visitors may have little interest in local Indian lore; however, I believe that there are many who will be interested in a subject that belongs in the local school Social Studies history books.
