1944: REMEMBERING THE "PEANUT STORE"

We called it "the Nut House," but whatever you called it, (assuming you are old enough to remember Trenton's glory years,) you most certainly remember the delectable aroma that always emanated from that little shop on North Broad Street. I can still remember the wonderful aroma of roasted nuts of all kinds that came from that little shop. Our "L-9" Liberty Street bus stopped right in front of that store at the intersection of South Broad and West State Street as we waited for the return trip down South Broad Street to Liberty Street. If I was lucky, mom Glover would have a quarter for a large bag of fresh roasted nuts for us to take home. Ahh, the memories!
