What memories! There's the late, lamented White Horse Tavern as it
looked 56 years ago. The panel truck in front of that historic building then
known as Gropp's Tavern, carries the name "Moses;" as I recall, Moses was a laundry organization, but that is speculation on my part. Look closely and you will see Tony's Tomato
pies; long before we began erroneously calling them "pizzas."

1946: ANYBODY REMEMBER "TONY'S TOMATO PIES?"
I was only 13 when this photo was taken and must admit that I never had a tomato pie at Tony's. Back then it was DeLorenzo's which was in walking distance of my Hartley Avenue home. I don't recall the diner either.
