2009: HAMILTON LIBRARY AT COMMUNITY DAY

We had a very nice day at Sunday's Annual Community Day (AKA Septemberfest.) It would have been better had we been in closer proximity to the main Hamilton Township center which was many yards away from our location, That's Library Director George Conwell, Tom Glover, Sandy DiPierro, and in the front, Stacy Lytle. Message for the day? People LOVE the library; we're proud of that.

1989:SEPTEMBERFEST 20 YEARS AGO

Lord, how time flies! It seems like only yesterday when I was traipsing around Veterans' Park taking in all the activities which the volunteers and workers of township of Hamilton prepared for the local citizenry, Pay special attention to the list of event sponsors. True then, and perhaps even more today. sponsors such as those listed and those who are currently assisting the township in community affairs deserve our genuine gratitude and loyal patronage.

Al Tasnady's '37 Ford Stock Car

I WAS COMPLETELY DELIGHTED WITH THIS WONDERFUL 3 DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY OF AL TASNADY SITTING IN HIS 1937 FORD STOCK CAR WITH THE BACKGROUND OF THE N.J. STATE FAIRGROUNDS GRANDSTAND AND RACE TRACK. I WOULD GUESS THAT THIS PHOTO WAS CIRCA 1948 OR 1949. I COULD VERY WELL HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE SPECTATORS AT THAT RACE. WE USED TO WATCH THE RACES FROM THE SMITH AVENUE AREA OF THE FAIRGROUNDS RACE TRACK, OFF OF KLOCKNER ROAD. DURING MY TEEN YEARS, TASNADY, ROCKY DINATALE, PEPPER CUNNINGHAM, AND OTHERS WHOSE NAMES ELUDE ME, MADE A DEFINITE IMPRESSION ON US IMPRESSIONABLE TEENAGERS! THE NUMEROUS HISTORIC OVERSIZE DISPLAYS DOTTING THE PARK THIS YEAR WERE SIMPLY EXCELLENT. KUDOS TO WHOMEVER WAS RESPONSIBLE. I ALSO DIDN'T FAIL TO NOTICE THE "HOLLYWOOD" TYPE "HAMILTON" SIGN ALONG ONE OF THE PATHWAYS. ALL THAT WAS MISSING WAS THE MOUNTAIN!
WE HAVE REAL ARTISTS HAMILTON TOWNSHIP! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL REPRODUCTION OF THE HAMILTON MUNICIPAL BUILDING. IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! AFTER WALKING ABOUT 5 MILES TRAVERSING ACROSS THAT HUGE AND BEAUTIFUL VETERANS' PARK THIS AFTERNOON AT OUR ANNUAL SEPTEMBERFEST, I HAPPENED UPON MY DEAR COLLEAGUE FROM THE HAMILTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY, SU DECKERT MANNING (OR IS IT WOMANING?) THE TOWNSHIP DISPLAY. WELL DONE, TO WHOMEVER WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS VERY IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY. ANOTHER POST WILL SHOW ANOTHER WORK OF ART, THE STOCK CAR RACER AT OUR N.J. STATE FAIR.
