1937: FATHERS NIGHT AT JUNIOR 3

Still working in the "SCHOOLS-TRENTON" folder, I came across this digitized photo from 1937 which has a photo of my cousin Charlies Gaudette in the second row. As a went through the list of names, behold, another Kuzma; this one "R. Kuzma," a fellow tumbler at Junior 3.

Hi Tom: As you know, Jr. 3 was my neighborhood school but it was a wee bit before my time -- one of the rare instances when I can still say that. But I love seeing the words "" Junior 3'' any day and any time. Hopefully, you'll come up with some more Jr. 3 stuff. Regards

Thanks Tom:

I had copied this "Original" heretofore unseen picture with brother Robert in it the last time you posted it.
Rayfromvillapark; FYI, see Bobby Reither's photo just beyond my brother Bob. We spoke of this just a month or so ago.

Regards, and again Thanks

Mike Kuzma

As Ray pointed out to me a few days ago, he noted repeated posts on this site. I will continue to post them as I come across individual photos and articles which I repeat. It is a daunting task to go back through my former posts to determine whether or not I already posted the item earlier. Thanks to you both for your loyalty to this site, and also you very valuable comments.

Since Junior Three is in "my neck of the woods", it was my school, completed my k-9 years at this wonderful institution. This particular program was one of many splendid and worthwhile productions that took place there through the years, a little early for me to attend. School plays, service clubs, safe school yard, chorales at Christmas and a wonderful secure place to get a complete and fine education. One day someone vandalized the fireman statue sitting atop the fountain on the northeast corner of the grounds which for me marked the beginning of the end of the school quality and safe environment. I graduated from Jr 3 in 1954. The school's rapid decline and deterioration of its quality is a mere microcosm of the city; and I am saddened by that thought.

Greetings,

Yes, Junior 3 was my school as well and what a wonderful place it was. Near the beautiful water power canal and loggy basin and stacy park. It was always a beautiful walk home. I graduated in 54. The children who now live along the awful Route 29 who attend Junior 3 have been deprived of that beauty. It is sad how beauty is not valued over efficiency, speed, technology and money. The devaluation of beauty and ecosystems diminishes our morality and unbalances our values.

Indeed it has diminished our morality and unbalanced our values, anonymous; very well said.

Hi: I agree with you all. I graduated Jr. 3 in 1952 and it was a wonderful school. We played dodge ball and softball across W. State Street at the front of Cadwalader Park. I spent many happy winter hours skating at the loggy and it was always beautiful. I "travel'' that area thanks to Bing and see what has happened. It breaks my heart. But my memories are in tact and for that I am very grateful. And, thanks to Tom and all his bloggers I can always go home again. Regards
