1945: HAMILTON AVENUE AT NORWAY HEADING TO NEWKIRK AVENUE

I published a similar graphic to this one some time back. This is very familiar territory for me....indeed, it is one block away from Kuser School, my grammar school alma mater. Up the road to the right is Atlantic Avenue, the street on which I have been living for 50 plus years.

HI TOM....MY BROTHER LOU BOUGHT A HOME ON PARK LANE IN THE 40'S FOR $6500. IT WAS A VERY LARGE BRICK HOUSE WITH A LARGE GARAGE ALONGSIDE. I GUESS THAT IS IN THE BROMLEY NEIGBORHOOD. HE USED THAT HOUSE TO GET A MORTGAGE TO BUY THE GROUND ON ROUTE 33 TO BUILD THE HAMILTON BOWLING LANES. I MENTION THIS TO EXPLAIN HOW WE WERE ABLE TO ACQUIRE THAT GROUND. REGARDS.
