1939: NO. WARREN STREET AT THE RR CROSSING

The beautiful spire on St. Mary's Cathedral looms majestically in this scene of North Warren Street heading toward West State Street. Passing by this exact location will give a completely foreign aspect, given the many changes that have transpired in that neighborhood over these past 73 years.

Great black and white shot Tom. Correct me if I'm wrong as I have never been to Trenton (my husband's ancestors are from there) St. Mary's is located at 151 N. Warren St? His grandfather, Dr. Elmer H. Rogers, a well-known physician lived and worked out of 126 N. Warren for many years, about 1885 until his death in 1907. His family remained their for some years after his death. I'm sure it looked much different then than it does today.

I posted a postcard on my blog of a similar scene showing St. Mary's spire ca 1900 - 1910. If you are interested you can see it here:

I really enjoy your blog and always look forward to your posts.
