1939: LONG'S DRUG STORE

As I seem to recall, Longs had a number of locations over many years. I seem to remember Greenwood and Olden Avenue, and also Hamilton and Olden Avenue. This photo shows a much different East State Street when compared to the same location today..

HI TOM....I RECALL THAT LOCATION VERY MUCH. THAT'S THE BEGINNING OF THE HILL ON CHAMBERS WHERE I SLID DOWN IN MY CAR ON A SNOWY DAY AND WAS LUCKY NO OTHER CARS WERE COMING UP OR ELSE I WOULD'NT BE HERE TODAY. LONGS WAS ONE OF THE MORE POPULAR PHARMACIES IN THE AREA. BEST REGARDS.

Ralph:

The "hill" you refer to was, and is in fact the "Lincoln Ave." bridge over the main line of the R.R.
Lincoln Ave. feeds into the beginning of Chambers St.
Tom showed this same corner some months ago.
