1934: ROCKHILL HART-VETERAN TOWNSHIP CLERK

Many people who are not familiar with Hamilton Township history will not recognize the name of Rockhill Hart. As can be seen in the above article, he was one of Hamilton's pioneer figures from the mid 18th century up to 80th birthday in 1934. It is interesting to note that his office was also in the same building as one of the original Hamilton Township jails. (There was also a township jail located on Schiller Avenue in Broad Street Park, in a building today occupied by the Marine Corps League.)

A jail was located on Schiller Avenue, Broad Street Park, but was not the building currently occupied by the Marine Corps League. The building was a separate building on the lot that sat in the southeast corner of the property.
