1922: SO. MONTGOMERY STREET BETWEEN E. STATE AND E. FRONT STREET

I need a more informed downtown Trentonian to tell me what that cigar boxed skyscrapher is in the photo. I am trying to figure out why the structure appears to be so very narrow. On the other hand, this scarce news photo of So. Montgomery Street and the abundant parking spaces is intriguing. I am researching the Harbourt building to determine whether the family name matches the mid century Harbourt Air Freight company. The Bing map above shows a copter view of the area as it is today; a start difference from the news photo.

Tom:
Somewhere in your archives you may find somthing that refers to the "Broad St. Bank Building" being built in sections.
While working at City Hall in the 50's I seem to recall a waterfountain conversation indicating just that.
The picture seems to depict Steel girders connecting the two structures.
So. Montgomery St. was extremely wide, and if you recall, it had a "Comfort station" in the median very close to State St.
