Circa 1910: FABULOUSLY INTERESTING SOUTH TRENTON STORIES

If there is one area of Trenton which holds a special interest to me, it would be the Mill Hill area, and the area we know of today as that area bounded by the Delaware River, Riverview Cemetery, Centre Street and back to Bridge Street. There is such magnificent and little known history surrounding that area. From the canal barges that once plied the D&R Canal, the riverboats, and most of all the exciting old time residents as described in the article above.

Question? The last two blocks of Second St faced the cemetery and backed up to Center Street. Would they have been part of Mill Hill?

Tom, Wonder if you can fill me in on whether the part of Second St by the cemetery (way down the end) was part of Mill Hill. My grandparents lived there and I spent lots of time on the steps of their home listening to my grandad spin ghost stories for the neighborhood kids. Would be interesting to know if it was called that.

NO OMAD: MILL HILL WAS THE AREA SOUTH OF THE ASSANPINK CREEK IN DOWNTOWN TRENTON, THE AREA SOUTHWARD TO AROUND THE EXTON CRACKER FACTORY ON CENTRE STREET. THE AREA INCLUDED BRIDGE STREET, FURMAN, FERRY PART OF LAMBERTON, MARKET, AND THE AREA AROUND THE COURTHOUSE.
