1939: BALDERSTON CHEVROLET BECOMES GILBERT & MOTT

Balderston Chevrolet was a Chevy fixture when they opened in 1927. After 12 years, they gave up the ship and passed the dealership on to Charles Gilbert and Harding Mott. The new dealership kept many, indeed most of the Balderston employees, and were a very prominent Chevrolet dealership right up into the early 1960's. This was a black and white full page ad. I added the color for the benefit so future automobile historians can save this photo to their automobile collection.

Hi Tom.... We bought our first car from Balderson's in the late 20s. I think it was used and called a Star. Pete Tedeski, our neighbor on Bert Ave. was the salesman and my mother drove it until she was in an accident with a Wlno Bros. Laundry truck. She never drove after that and my brother Lou got his license and took over. That is really going way back. Regards.
