1935; (cA. 1935) STATE AND BROAD, DOWNTOWN TRENTON

I have already posted this incredible photo of downtown Trenton which was donated to the Hamilton Library by my dear friends from the Buker family, Rosemary and Tom Buker. The late Leland (Leon) Buker was an old friend of mine from my St. Anthony Parish years. He was a scholar when it came to the local Trenton mass transit industry during the years of Trenton Transit. His entire career was spent as a Trenton Transit employee/bus driver.
I HAVE SCANNED THIS AT 400 DOTS PER INCH. WHEN I BRING IT UP ON MY COMPUTER, IT PLACES ME RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN! CLICK ON THE IMAGE AND SEE IF YOU CAN TRANSPORT YOURSELF TO CENTER CITY TRENTON CIRCA 1935.

Hi Tom....Boy! Do I remember down town. I delivered mail 3 times a day there during my Post Office days. While I was on parcel post, the big problem was parking. When I worked W. State, the problem were doctors and of course the State House. That was in the 50s whwn the cars were much bigger. In the photo I see mostly small ones of the 30s. It was tough work but I enjoyed meeting people and the time went by faster. Best Regards.

....I might add Tom, it's great to see my favorite stores, like Dunham's, Stoll's, F.W. Donnelly, Kinney Shoes and of course Tom McCann's. Thanks for the Memories.

Isn't that a great photo, Ralph? The clarity is incredible. I am very grateful to the Buker family for sharing these items with our visitors.
