Slowly but surely, piece by piece, graphic by graphic, the digital files in the Hamilton Library Local History Collection begin to connect to each other. Above is a photo of Yardville's legendary Mount general store on South Broad Street, immediately below is an invoice to the Board of Education for supplies. Wonderful and interesting history!

Just wondering, do you have any idea where this was located?
HI GARY; GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU:
IT WAS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SOUTH BROAD STREET. I THINK SOMEONE SAID THE PLACE WAS NOW A STORE SELLING CHICKEN FOOD. SORRY I CAN'T BE MORE SPECIFIC. THE LATE BOB SIMPKINS, AND OLD FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME THE ACTUAL LOCATION, BUT I NEVER LOGGED IT. I'M SURE I OR ONE OF OUR VISITORS WILL BE ABLE TO PIN POINT IT.
TOM
Tom - I believe it was the building that housed the famous Nick's Chickens take out place, currently a Japanese/Chinese food establishment.
Lakesdie Girl
Lakeside Girl could be right, I think I remember and I know my mother told me, that was a Grocery Store, it was an American Store, I believe the forrunner of the Acme Stores.
Before that was Nick's, when I was a teenager, it was a Pizza Restaurant and Nick's was still in the Yardville Sales Center, till the fire
