Breathes there a boy over 70 years of age who didn't lust for a pair of "High Tops" to accompany those corduroy knickers? They were the Cadillac of boys' wear in my early youth. However, times were tough, and thanks to my older brother Bud growing out of them, they were passed down to me and I wore them proudly; pen knife and all!

1940: REMEMBERING "HIGH TOPS"
Breathes there a boy over 70 years of age who didn't lust for a pair of "High Tops" to accompany those corduroy knickers? They were the Cadillac of boys' wear in my early youth. However, times were tough, and thanks to my older brother Bud growing out of them, they were passed down to me and I wore them proudly; pen knife and all!
