1985: THAT ELUSIVE WOODLAWN PARK

Over the many years I have been a student of local history, there have been two subjects that have been absolutely conspicuous by their absence: Camp Olden, and Woodlawn Park. There are just tantalizing mini articles on both subjects, but I have yet to find an historic article with a map and details on Camp Olden, and also photos of Woodlawn Park. For those who are not aware of Woodlawn Park, it was located on South Logan Avenue, bordered by Greenwood Avenue on the north, Connecticut Avenue on the east, and Elizabeth Avenue on the south.

Hi it's me again Virginia Beers Langone, I think I have a picture of Woodlawn Park. My father Frank Beers and my Uncle ran some of the rides there. The picture is of the Whip.......
I never saw it, but my mother use to talk about it all the time.
