Though not a native of Villa Park, I made numerous incursions to that quaint community as a young boy. Tracy's 5 and 10, the dentist known by many as "Butcher Burns," Tony's Barber Shop, Moses School, Atlas Welding, Lownies's "Junk Store," and my aunt Ethel and Uncle Walter Walker, who lived on the corner of Park and as I recall, Centennial Avenues. As I pile on the years, re-reading these now antiquated columns bring back many memories. I hope at least a part of it brings back some pleasant or perhaps bittersweet memories to "Villa Parkers."
