1943: Germany Criticized by Inuendo

It disturbes me when I hear the accusations that the Vatican passively stood by as Adolph Hitler's Nazis began their programs of atrocities and genocide. In the very early 30's when Hitler began to make progress in his journey to Nazi leadership, many German American citizens were sympathizers with the Nationalist movement in the Fatherland. However, as the stories of rape and pillaging came tumbling across the American newpaper pages, the sentiments changed radically and the Fascist movement became deadly enemies of America.
