2006: MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS

Here's a vignette relating to vintage amateur radio which I find to be quite fascinating. The gentlemen in the photos are all local Mercer County area men who have blazed the trail of amateur radio from the years of its infancy. Thanks to Kathy Csorgo Annacaratto, daughter of the late Steve Csorgo, for numerous photos of amateur radio persons, places, and things in the local area. Mr. and Mrs.
Annacaratto have generously donated these radio treasures to the Hamilton Library's Local History Collection. At one time or another and usually on numerous occasions, I spoke with each of the gentlemen shown in the photos, and so did many amateur radio operators locally and all over the world.

What a suprise to see an article about my father in your column. My sister told me she had shared alot of his collection with you, but I never imagined I would open a page on the internet to find Dad. What a fantastic tribute to a wonderful man. I spent long hours as a child sitting with him in his "shack" as he called it talking to his "friends" from all over the world. A pretty amazing thing back in those days! Thank You, Karen Csorgo Young (Berlin, NJ)
