1943: Hopewell Valley Honor Students
More familiar names in the list of honor roll students. There's Betsy Howe, a very pretty young lady I remember from my years at Kuser Farm. She was an occasional visitor there. Anyone there you know? Edna Kuser was Edna Howe Kuser, one of Pennington's more prominent families. Bill Howe Sr. was the Mayor of the town back in the 30's. Indeed, he was deeply in to local politics almost from the time he came from Tennessee to settle in his beloved Pennington. How well I remember "Howe Nurseries;" one of our premium local enterprises. Bill Howe Jr. was a big game hunter, frequently going on African safaris. Yes, he had those big animal heads mounted on the wall, too.
