When I was a boy, the arrival our street of Mr. Spera with his Hokey Pokey-making machine was a very welcome sight. Mr. Spera served the most wonderful, slushy, just right, combination of ice and flavoring to satisfy the most sensitive taste. Served up in pleated paper cups, one could buy a 2 cent or 5 cent single or double dip. Mmmmm! today's Rita's comes close, but they will NEVER emulate the Spera Hokey Pokey.

Spera's "Country Store"
