Hi Tom - My adult children did not believe me when I told them we listened to John Gambling on WOR radio from New York for our school closings! How we waited patiently listening for the announcement - I do not remember many times the schools were closed from 1947 - 1960!Lakeside Girl

I remember those broadcasts quite well, Eleanor. The original John Gambling "Musical Clock" radio program on WOR was always on at our house whenever there was a snow storm. I miss the old WOR with Harry Hennesey, John Scott, and so many other great broadcasters.
