1949: COLONIAL LAKELANDS TRENTON TRANSIT BUS AT THE POST OFFICE

In order to satisfy U.S. Copyright laws, I am crediting the Duke University Library R.C. Maxwell collection. This pristine view of E. State Street and the fabled "DeLuxe Diner" across the street shows the area as it was 64 years ago. Note: These photos are the property of Duke University and MAY NOT be used for commercial purposes on Ebay or any other commercial venue. FAIR USE only!

HI TOM...O BOY WHAT A SIGHT! THAT DINER IS WHERE I HAD BREAKFAST AT ABOUT 5;30 IN THE MORNING FOR 14 YEARS. AND THE BUSSES TOOK US ON OUR ROUTES EXCEPT FOR THE DOWN TOWN ROUTES. I WALKED TO MY ROUTE ON WEST STATE AND WILLOW TO W. STATE AND CALHOUND. WINTER TIME WAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE HIGH STEPS ON MOST OF THE BUILDINGS. I BID OFF THE ROUTE AND DROVE A PARCEL POST TRUCK UNTIL WE LEFT TO BUILD THE HAMILTON BOWLING LANES ON ROUTE 33. BEST REGARDS
