SORRY FOR THE INACTIVITY

All our visitors are probably wondering why the inactivity on this website over the past few weeks. The summer doldrums along with personal health issues between my wife Judy and I has commanded much of my time. We are slowly coming back to normal, and you will once again see interesting historic posts here. Sorry for the delay caused by hypothyroidism (under active thyroid on my part) and poor circulation on Judy's side of the ledger. The former "hype" is apparently under control, and the latter is being treated with a future visit to a specialist.

In the meantime, here's a photo that will be familiar to many of us old timers who remember Ward Avenue before it was re-routed and a dog leg added.

Tom,

I had an over-active thyroid but I had to call a halt to it. It was ordering pizzas and taking college courses online. It got too expensive. The last straw was when it booked passage on a "Tour The Nation" bus using my credit card:)

Warren (Glad you're feeling better, we missed you).

Tom,

I'm sorry to hear that you and your wife had health issues recently. Glad to hear that you're back!

I was so excited to see your column today in the Times!! I'm a few years younger than you, and I remember our "first days of school" too. For one thing, we started the day after Labor Day all day and that was it! I never heard of "orientation" back then.

I hope that you will be writing regular columns in the Times. It's a great way to start the day.
