1940: JUNIOR 4, DAYTON STREET; TODAY'S GRACE DUNN

I am building up a nice collection of Junior Four grammar school articles, photos and quite a few "ARGUS" yearbooks. It seems that this school holds many fond memories to many visitors who were fortunate enough to attend that school during the golden years of education in Trenton and the surrounding area. Of particular interest is the weekly "Assembly" which we all had back in the 1930's and 40's. It was usually a Friday affair and we were exposed to fascinating cultural and educational on stage programs.

Tom:

Thanks again for your efforts in bringing back memories of my wonderful childhood benchmarks, and heretofore unknown photos of my family members. In my favorite school I find another photo of my deceased sister Lillian Kuzma Zuccarelli in the 3rd row.
Just last week, I sent a copy of another photo I found of Sister Lil in your blog to her sons, Johnny of Jupiter Fl., and Jimmy who is still living on the family farm in Hopewell.
You dilligence in uncovering these gems have brought much happiness to not only me, but all who have great memories of Trenton as we knew it. BTW, "on Junior 4, roll up the score, We rally round thee as we fight to beat the foe" etc, etc,
Thanks for the memmories once again

Warm and sincere regards

Mike Kuzma

JUNIOR 4 WAS A BIG CHANGE FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THE SWIMMIMG POOL, AUDITORIUM, GYM TEACHERS AND RUNNING AROUND FINDING ROOMS. HOW CAN I FORGET MR. STADMEYER, WITH HIS ROD WHACKING THE NAKED BAD BOYS. I PLAYED ON THE BALL TEAM WITH MR. RAY WOOD AS COACH AND MISS DUNN ALWAYS HELPING THE STUDENTS WITH PROBLEMS. GREAT MEMORIES.
