1914: JOHN SOLIMANDO, A PAINTER IN THE BURG 100 YEARS AGO
The Solimando name is prominent in the Chambersburg neighborhood. This 100 year old ad from the Trenton Evening Times has been embellished with the colors of Italy, and the earliest classified ad I could find for the Solimando painting business.

This is my great Uncle. The family lived at 242 Elmer St in Chambersburg, all ten children surviving to adulthood and beyond. Patiners, actors, musicians, (harpist), and his brothers Fred and Michael (my grandfather) owned Freddies Tavern (future La Gondola) in Chambersburg for many years - along with a few other establishments (Mickey's Bar).
