"LAKESIDE," AKA GROPP'S LAKE

Here's a folio of interesting Lakeside/Gropp's Lake graphics. The two photos above were given to me by Mr. Harold Yaede whose family lived in the Lakeside Park area for years. I have begun to brand these graphics since I find that they are being borrowed without following the protocol of crediting the source. Mr. Yaede and his friend Harold Hager treasured their years as Lakeside residents.

HI TOM...LAKESIDE WAS WHERE I LEARNED TO SWIM AND SPENT A GREAT TIME OF THE SUMMER THERE IN THE EARLY YEARS. THAT CORNER STORE AND THE DIVING PLATFORM ALONG WITH THE BEACH WERE JUST ABOUT THE ONLY PLACE NEARBY WHERE WE COULD ENJOY THE WATER. ELLEN WILNO, OF THE GROPP FAMILY, WAS OUR NEIGHBOR ON NOTTINGHAM WAY IN MERCERVILLE AND HER BROTHER ANDY GROPP HAD A BUSINESS OF WORK OUT PLACES. THE GROPPS WERE WELL KNOWN IN THE TOWNSHIP AND IN THE CITY. REGARDS.

Hi Lee:

Can't say but wouldn't be surprised. Harold Yaede was ahead of us in age by 10 or 12 years. Our current Mayor is Kelly Yaede and there is probably a family connection in the Broad Street Park Yaede family. Hope all is going well with you. Start week 3 this Sunday. Not getting SRO crowd but real lovers of "OUR" music.
