1952: ANOTHER VIEW OF STATE AND BROAD THAT I REMEMBER
This is the era in which I and many of my contemporaries remember. This camera man is standing on the west side of North Broad Street looking down to the Capitol Theater, Goldberg's, etc. Wonderful town back then, alive, busy, and orderly.

Yes, Tom, the downtown was all the wonderful things you say. I was in Trenton High then and I passed through this crossroads twice a day on the bus. And it was a shopping mecca for my mother and grandmother. Thanks for the memories. Regards
HI TOM...1952 FOUD ME WALKING FROM THE POST OFFICE THRU DOWNTOWN AND STARTING MY ROUTE ON W. STATE AND WILLOW. CARRYING MAIL IN THOSE DAYS WERE ALL WALKING. IT PROBABLY HELPED TO KEEP ME ALIVE AT 94 IN AUGUST. I WENT BACK TO CARRYING MAIL IN FLORIDA IN ORDERF TO GET MY PENSION IN 1980. SO I PUT IN 20 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN OFF SINCE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BRINGING UP ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES.
Tom - Thanks for these two views of Broad St - many happy memories of shoppiing on Thursday nights and also on Saturdays. We (my mom and I) frequented those stores pictured very often - Swerns, Gimbels, and Daly Ladies Shop. How about that double bill at the Capitol Theatre! Lakeside Girl
