1937: ONE OF R.C. MAXWELL UTILITY TRUCKS

What a beautiful photo! R.C. Maxwell was indeed a "History Maker" as the company photographed their signs and in so doing and unbeknown to them at the time, were recording fascinating photos of the Mercer County area.I will leave it to our resident auto historian Ray Paskiewicz to identify that truck that looks like a Mack.

Hi Tom, The truck appears to be a 1937 GMC Cab over Engine (my guess is 11/2 Ton, because of the 15,000 lb load rate). Nice art deco style. rayfromvillapark

BLESS YOU, RAY! I THOUGHT IT WAS A GMC BUT WASN'T SURE. ALSO, I HAVEN'T HEARD THE PHRASE "CAB OVER ENGINE" IN YEARS; IT'S AS EXTINCT AS DIVCO TRUCKS.
