1937: W. STATE AND WILLOW: A CLOSER LOOK

This is a segmented enlarged view of a small portion of the preceding post showing W. State and Willow in a wider field of view. Through the magic of digital imaging the above pristine cutaway gives a closer look at the Hotel Stacy Trent and down the street a bit, the Hotel Hildebrecht.

HI TOM....DOWNTOWN TRENTON, FROM CLINTON TO WILLOW IN THOSE YEARS WERE LIKE ANY BIG CITY AND WAS ALWAYS A TREAT TO US KIDS. I SOLD THE TIMES AT THE CORNER OF STATE AND MONTGOMERY FOR 2 CENTS WHEN I WAS ABOUT 12 YEARS OLD AND MADE ABOUT 20 CENTS PROFIT. LATER ON, I DELIVERED MAIL THERE FOR 65 CENTS AN HOUR TO START AND FELT LIKE I WAS RICH. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
