1930'S: S.S. KRESGE "FIVE AND DIME"

This very nice offset photo is a candidate for hand coloring. I am saving it in a "PENDING" file and will color and re-post it. Anyone who was around during the era when downtown Trenton was a bustling capital city will recall Kresge's and Woolworth.

HI TOM...THOSE FIVE AND DIME STORES, AND WE'LL ALSO INCLUDE GRANT'S, WERE THE HEART THROB OF DOWN TOWN TRENTON. EVERY DEPT HAD THEIR OWN SALESGIRL, NOT MEN, AND A DOLLAR WOULD GO A LONG WAY TOWARD PURCHASES. THEIR SODA FOUNTAINS WERE THE GREATEST AND WE ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO A HOT DOG AND ROOT BEER FOR 15 CENTS. REGARDS.
