MEMORIES: A TOM GLOVER EDITORIAL

In varying degrees, we all have a special place for memories of our younger years. These memories glow brighter and brighter as we grow older. I wrote the above "Forward" to one of my columns dealing with my 12 years in the Hamilton Township Public School system. As you can see, it was written before the advent of the computer on my old "Brothers" electronic typewriter. As I approach my 78th year in this wonderful township and prepare for my Easter Sunday 57th anniversary of true wedded bliss, those memories are coming back in glorious technicolor! Somehow I feel that most of the visitors to this blog share my sentiment on their own memories.

How right you are, Tom. Many restless nights, I "walk'' through my home on Carteret Avenue and see it as it was. Everything is in its place and it always makes me feel better. I can visualize the kindergarten room at Junior 3 and remember my anxious mother "hiding'' across the hall in time to see me walk out because I had enough and was going home. Miss Rogers stopped me before I made the front door. The memories, as you say, are in glorious technicolor and always there when I need them. Regards and congratulations on your anniversary.
SALLY, I SEE YOU ARE ALSO A "KEEPER OF THE PRECIOUS MEMORIES"

XO
TOM
Happy anniversary to you and your wife. Also, the aromas I miss are fresh mown hay, burning of leaves in the fall and the scents eminating from Granny's kitchen. Good health for many years to come for you and your wife. Noel
Noel: I especially like your memories of new-mown hay. If I can find it, I wrote a column recalling the heady aroma of new mown hay. As I recall, I extracted a line from the old song, "Back home again in Indiana." ..."The new mown hay casts off a fragrance, in the fields I used to roam. When I dream about the moonlight on the Wabash, then I long for my Indiana home." There is in indescribable wave of nostalgia that comes over one who experiences that exercise in aromatherapy!
