1935: HAMILTON POST 31 IN ALL THEIR SPLENDOR

Check out those handsome Post 31 Drum and Bugle Corpsmen as the welcome local participants in "American Legion Day" at the New Jersey State Fair grounds. Just a logical question: When Dan Quayle mis-spelled "potato," he was ridiculed for weeks. Likewise, George Bush couldn't seem to pronounce Nuclear; ("Nucular.") he too was portrayed as lacking smarts. I think my hearing must be impaired, I thought I heard  the President refer to the United States Marine "Corpse." I haven't heard or seen any reference to what I thought I heard, and must assume that I didn't hear what I thought I heard. Certainly the media would have picked up on that, wouldn't they? Or would they?

HI TOM....IN MY OPINION THE HAMILTON POST HAD THEIR BIGGEST GLORY IN 1936 WHEN I PLAYED WITH THE SCHROTHS. MY BIGGEST AMBITION WHEN I WAS A KID WAS TO PLAY FOR THEM FOR THEY WERE WINNING AMERICAN LEGION CHAMPIONSHIPS EVERY YEAR. BUT ALONG CAME HAM9ILTON POST THAT YEAR AND ELIMINATED US AT CADWALDER PARK IN 1936. I WILL SAY THEY HAD A GREAT TEAM AND WENT A LONG WAY TO THE FINALS. IT WAS DISSAPOINTING TO LOSE BUT I DID GET TO PLAY FOR THE SCHROTHS. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
