1847: YARDVILLE'S ALBION MILLS FOR SALE

There is a strange fascination surrounding the incredibly interesting history of the old mills that once reposed in old Sand Hills. The mill was a very popular place for the farmers from the surrounding area. Back in this era, Sand Hills was noted for the mill and as a very important shipping center on the old Camden and Amboy rail line which ran through the village. It is interesting to note that Sand Hills was a major shipping source for pork to the markets in New York and Philadelphia. Many of the local farmers found that raising pigs was more profitable than corn and specialized in the processing of pork.
