1930: NEW ATLANTIC SERVICE STATION

I remember Perry Street when it was a bit different from today. I waited at the Perry Street bus terminal for a Trailways bus to take me to Fort Devens, Massachusetts to begin schooling at the signal intelligence school. The street was a busy thoroughfare with retail stores and other mercantile establishments. The riots in the 60's forever changed Perry Street and the downtown Trenton of my youth.

I spent much time shopping on Perry Street in the 30s. I got to know Harry and Bob Synder very well. They ran a sporting goods store and were a great help to us kids in supplying sporting equipment and clothing for our teams. I believe they called the store Synder's Army and Navy Store. Perry St. had many nice stores and of course, the Bus Terminal was the main one.
