1944: IKE WILLIAMS, GENTLEMAN BOXER

Ike made a number of sport headlines during the 1940's. Every morning on our bust trip to Hamilton High, we passed Ike's home on the curve in Forest Valley where Central Avenue becomes Park Avenue. Ike's beautiful rancher still looks much the same as it did in the 1940's and 50's.

Hi Tom: Just a few words to say how much more successful Ike's future would have been if he had not got tangled up with the Philadelphia people he ended up with. He sponsored a good young baseball team in the 40s that I recall and beat the Schroths in a practice game.
