1938: WEIGEL CHEVROLET
Back on December 10th I published a Christmas ad featuring the 1937 Chevrolet. I noted the ad referred to a heretofore unknown auto dealer known as Weigel Chevrolet, located on Hamilton Avenue in Hamilton in what would ultimately become a Royal Crown Bottling plant and today a day care center. I have since learned the Weigel was a "sub dealer" who along with South Broad Street Chevrolet worked in conjunction with the Balderston Chevrolet dealership in downtown Trenton. A very interesting part of the ad tells of the dealer's used car lot on Hamilton and Olden Avenues. I suspect the lot was located on the Goeller property on the south east corner of the intersection near the old St. Anthony Church.
