1930: THE NEW TRENTON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

This graphic was extracted from the article which follows this post dealing with the state of the school system in the city of Trenton. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this beautiful edifice could be restored instead of becoming the victim of the wrecker's ball?

THIS FROM RALPH LUCARELLA:
Hi Tom: As I recall, the gym was built separate from the school in order to accomodate the large crowds that attended the basketball games that "Red" Smith's teams played in. In addition, Sports Night also drew a large number of people. It also provided more parking space for the large attendance. They certainly took advantage of the large tract of ground the school would use. Once again, I don't think there's a high school in the country that compares with it. Best regards.

THANKS RALPH! YOUR COMMENTS ARE A VERY IMPORTANT
ADDITION TO THIS BLOG.

THIS FROM MACK MCNICOLL:
