1917: EXTON'S FAMOUS "OTC" ORIGINAL TRENTON CRACKERS
I dare say there isn't a Trenton-Hamilton area resident over the age of 60 who doesn't recall the locally famous Trenton oyster cracker made by the Exton Company on Centre Street in downtown Trenton. I was never an oyster lover but I sure did love those OTC crackers in the many soups we had at home. Remember how we took 2 or 3 of them, doubled our fist and crushed them and floated them in our soup? You talk about gourmet dining! If your bowl of soup or stew was large enough, you had a full meal. I just liked to eat them right out of the box. Ahh, the memories! As I recall, the company closed up shop and moved to Lambertville. That was the last I heard from them until I googled Trenton OTC and found SB America who are keeping the OTC heritage alive. Check out their website shown in the graphic.
