2009: THIS WAS PLAAG'S GROVE

Many people have asked me about the location of Trenton's late, great, summer picnic ground, Plaag's Grove. This "BING" bird's eye view of the area bounded by Sylvan, Atkins, and Edwin Avenue shows the area which was the site of Plaag's Grove. The back yards of the homes on Newkirk Avenue included the 4th boundary line. As can be seen in the photo, the area has been developed and become a pretty residential area.

Tom, was there a baseball field here, I remember in the 1960's, when I played with the Groveville Fire Company Slow Pitch team we used to play ball at a field off Newkirk Ave, but I have never been able to locate it. Could this have been it.

ASSUMING IT WAS THE EARLY 60'S, THAT WOULD BE IT, GARY. THE ONLY OTHER FIELD "OFF NEWKIRK AVENUE" WOULD BE AT KUSER SCHOOL, AND YOU WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED IF YOU PLAYED THERE.
