1938: 5TH AND 6TH GRADE, COLUMBUS SCHOOL, TRENTON

Here's a news pic of the 5th and 6th graders at Columbus School in Trenton. The little engraving on the bottom left has been lifted from my "SCHOOLS, TRENTON" folder and planted in an unobtrusive location.

Hi Tom:)
Great picture...I do notice
some of the kids wearing ties
in a public school..that did not
happen often or at all in my Burg
day.
PS:
For those like me who did not know
where this place was (or is??), my directory
says Brunswick Avenue & Mulberry Street.

Hey Mack. Yes, Brunswick and Mulberry. I always wore a tie and dress clothes. So did the girls, and am I glad they did. Today the kids look like street urchins with holes in their jeans, flip flops, and other "casual" wear. I'm sure glad I grew up in that environment.
