1941: JUNIOR JEWISH COUNCIL DANCE

"Old Timers" will remember Green Acres Country Club in Lawrenceville. One must wonder how many of the young men with their young ladies went off to fight in World War II, which was just 11 months away. Can any visitor tell me if Green Acres still exists, or has it been developed into a housing area?

According to this Google Maps satellite view, it appears that there is still a
Green Acres Country Club.

Many thanks for the comment, Marc. Even though I will be on Darrah Lane tomorrow evening for a program with the Lawrence seniors, I seldom get into that neighborhood. I appreciate the heads up.

Greenacres still exists, but not as a private equity club as it was until very recently. The current location across from Rider was built as Longacres golf club as part of housing development. Members of the Progress Club had built a course just north of Lawrenceville. When Longacres became available (I think in 1940 or 1941) it was purchased and renamed Greenacres. Founders included Alex Budson Esq., Chuck Schragger, Herman Moss DDS and others.
