1930: WEST STATE AND CALHOUN STREETS

Once again I call on my visitors from the Cadwalader-West End area of the city to tell me if this is a view from West State Street looking west, and Calhoun Street on the right, Glen Cairn Arms across the street on the left. Remember when the Glen Cairn Arms was an upscale abode? What a crime that it fell into dis-repair.

Tom,

You are correct, this is West State Street looking west, with Calhoun on the right and Glen Cairn on the left. All of the townhouses on the right are still there and actually look the same. I have always admired the house with the bay windows on the corner.

Regarding Glen Cairn, I am not quite old enough to recall when it was upscale, but I really wish someone would do something with it, as it is such an eyesore and at such a well traveled intersection.

Many thanks for the verification, Jay. I wasn't really sure. I also recall that house with the bay windows on the north side of Calhoun and W. State S
