1905: AVIATION: THE EARLY YEARS

Three years earlier, Wilbur and Orville Wright succeeded in getting a very flimsy aircraft to make a relatively prolonged flight. That was the beginning of an early era in aviation when other would be flyers began to construct their own aircraft designs. The above gentleman chose to try a flying "kite" made of bamboo. As you can see in the article, the attempt was a dismal failure.
